HEXAFLOW Bumper for

A bumper is meant to protect the front end from impacts. But in competitive RC racing, every component can do more. The HEXAFLOW Bumper was developed with that philosophy in mind: pushing even a part that is usually installed and forgotten to its limits, turning it into a component that actively influences the car’s handling.

Like every Boost RC product, HEXAFLOW started as a CAD design and went through multiple stages of prototyping and on-track testing before evolving into the final product.

The name comes from its defining feature: the through-flow honeycomb cells, angled relative to the direction of travel, are designed to direct airflow across the front section of the car, with the goal of providing an aerodynamic effect that increases with speed.

HEXAFLOW introduces a new approach to chassis setup. A classic example: reducing camber improves mechanical grip in slow corners, but often causes the car to understeer in high-speed sections. The usual compromise. With HEXAFLOW, the setup can be biased even further toward mechanical grip for slower corners while relying on the additional aerodynamic support in faster turns. It adds another variable in the search for the ideal setup.

Materials
Manufactured using high-performance engineering polymer through 3D printing, HEXAFLOW has been developed to achieve the ideal balance between flexibility and impact resistance. It absorbs impacts without cracking, retains its shape over time, and continues to perform its protective function even under demanding racing conditions.

Visual Appeal
Particular attention has also been paid to the visual design. The honeycomb structure naturally conveys a strong racing identity, enhanced by a carbon-fiber texture applied to the side surfaces and the underside, giving HEXAFLOW a distinctive technical appearance.
