Engineered from high-grade spring steel and developed through extensive CAD design and track testing, the Boost RC spring steel chassis for the Exotek F1Ultra R5 marks the first Boost RC chassis dedicated to the 1:10 Formula category.
The project was conceived around one of the most unique cars in the class — the F1Ultra R5 — with the goal of enhancing stability, consistency, and corner speed on medium to high grip tracks.
Compared to the standard carbon chassis, the spring steel version delivers a smoother and more progressive handling feel, increasing overall traction while reducing the abrupt reactions often caused by chassis flex during direction changes.
The 1.5 mm spring steel thickness required the adoption of custom M3 90-degree countersunk screws (Boost RC Torx T10) across the entire chassis.
Because the original car uses an M4 screw for the front wing mount — which also acts as the front body post mount — Boost RC developed a dedicated mounting system that allows the use of M3 hardware while maintaining compatibility with common Formula front wings.
The kit includes:

a rear mounting insert with M3 nut seat

a custom front body post with a 4 mm insert, compatible with the standard front wing mounting hole used in most Formula wings, but designed for an M3 screw

a spacer plate positioned between chassis and front wing to compensate for the 1.0 mm thickness difference compared to the original 2.5 mm carbon chassis

For optimal installation, it is recommended to:

increase the front ride height insert by 1 mm compared to the setup normally used with the carbon chassis

add two 1 mm shims on the rear pod to restore the correct drivetrain position relative to the chassis.
